Thank you from Make-A-Wish

With over $14,000 raised for charity, MINIsOnTop had some giving to do, which happened in a presentation ceremony this past weekend:
MINIsOnTop presents $13,242.66 to Make-A-Wish of New Hampshire
(LtoR: Ian/GBMINI, Michael from New Country MINI, Lloyd from Make-A-Wish, Michael, and Theo)

Lloyd, representing the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Hampshire, very kindly presented MINIsOnTop with a plaque, showing how everyone’s charity efforts make a real benefit, in this case sending Meghan to Disney!

MOT2008 Funds raised for Charity

MINIsOnTop is proud to announce the final tally of charity funds raised during MOT 2008.

We sold 223 raffle tickets for the MINI Cooper Clubman lease donated by Herb Chambers MINI of Boston – this raised $5,575.

New Country MINI supported the “Sundaes On Friday” event with a donation of $6.288 for each attendee, raising a total of $1,031.23.

The auction for Red Sox tickets in box seats with a pre-tour of Fenway Park raised $900 thanks to the generosity of Leo Lariviere, and the sponsorship of Hamilton Brook Smith & Reynolds.

Sales of $1 “door prize” tickets for a chance to win prizes from Aesthetic Creations, American Mini Mates, Bavarian Autosport, Bower & Wilkins, Concord Motorsport, Detailers Paradise, MC2 Magazine, MINI Do More, MINI of Peabody, MINI USA, National Motorists Association, Pooch Style, Texas Speedwerks, Tire Rack, TwistyBitz, Whalen Shift Machine, and White Mountain Chapter BMWCCA, along with the sale of MINIsOnTop merchandise and other on-the-day funds, raised $6,625.
Also of mention, personal sponsors: George Constantinou, Ian Cull, Ivan Sever, Pete Basiliere, Theo Matthias, and the family of Dan McDonald.
And finally, many thanks to PG Trionic for supporting the event and packing day!

The primary purpose of MINIsOnTop is a fun gathering of MINI owners – and we’ve heard from many attendees that they had a great time (see www.MINIsOnTop.com for pictures from the event) … but it’s with many thanks to everyone that attended, and those that couldn’t make it but supported the event, that we raised a grand total of $14131.23, to be distributed between the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Hampshire, and the Mount Washington Observatory.

In recognition of the height of Mount Washington, the observatory receives 6.288% of the total, a sum of $888.57.
The balance, a sum of $13242.66, will be presented to Make-A-Wish of New Hampshire in the next month, with photos to appear on www.MINIsOnTop.com

And the winner is …

MINIsOnTop 2008 is completed … a total of 215 raffle tickets for the Herb Chambers donated MINI Cooper Clubman lease were sold, and at the drawing at the base of Mount Washington, the winner was Jocelyn Dailey of Jersey City, NJ … congratulations :)

New Country MINI generously supported the Sundaes on Friday event both with ice cream sundaes, and a $6.288 donation for each of the sundae’ers, raising more then $1,000 for the MINIsOnTop 2008 charities of Make-A-Wish of New Hampshire, and the Mount Washinton Observatory.

A superb Red Sox package raised $900 in a rapid auction, and sales of $1 “door prize” tickets and other merchandise has brought the total raised for charities to an estimated $10,000 (final numbers in the next week)

MANY thanks to all our sponsors, all our attendees, and everyone that supported our event by purchasing raffle tickets!

Many thank you’s to say in May

While May is not quite in the books, it is about time to thank everyone who has already come forward this month to support our charitable efforts.

- Bavarian Autosport is one sponsor who can be counted on every year. Thanks for the gift certificates, Jay!

- Concord Motorsport is back again this year and has graciously donated a Dinan strut brace.

- The folks at MC2 Magazine have donated several T-shirts and subscriptions to our very favorite magazine.

- I may be using all of my raffle tickets this year for a chance at Theo’s signed photo of Rauno Aaltonen.

- Bring your spoons and your frozen treat addictions! We all be thanking New Country MINI for their support of the Friday night ice cream social and donation of $6.288 to Make A Wish for every person that attends the event that night.

- And MINI of Peabody won’t be letting us go home early on Saturday night either.

These and previous month’s donations push the value of our efforts for Make-A-Wish well above the $3000 mark.
