Thanks from Rosie’s Place
We recently received a very nice thank you letter from Rosie’s Place, in appreciation of the almost $15,000 that MINIsOnTop raised for them this year:

MINIsOnTop 2007 will be featured in the next issue of MC2 Magazine, including a number of pictures selected from submissions by various MOT2007 attendees.

Rosie’s Place presentation
Today we visited Rosie’s Place in Boston, met Ruthie there, and presented a check for $14,993 being funds raised during MOT2007 (an additional $1,500 in checks written direct to Rosie’s Place has already been delivered) … see this weblog post for more details:
MOT2007 best pictures
MC2 magazine will have an article covering MINIsOnTop in their next issue, submitted by “yellow hat” Theo and accompanied by a selection of the best MOT2007 pictures, selected by Theo from submissions from many attendees. While the final pictures to be selected by MC2 are not known, you can preview the “best of the best” in a Gallery Theo has set up in Picassa …

MOT2007 thanks you all!

I’d like to say a special THANK YOU to everyone involved with MINIsOnTop 2007 - all the volunteers that worked to make it so successful, all the attendees, and everyone that supported our fund raising for Rosie’s Place by donating items for us to offer as prizes, or by buying raffle tickets or “door prize” tickets.
MINIsOnTop 2007 was extremely successful, with 257 MINIs and 520 people registered; even the weather was friendly this year, allowing a chance to take clear photographs from on top of Mount Washington! I’ve collected links to the many photographs put online by attendees - if you’re interested, follow this link:
In total, 196 tickets were purchased for a chance to win the MINI Cooper lease donated by Herb Chambers MINI, and 189 tickets were purchased for the chance to win a trip to England donated by MINI of Peabody. More than 100 people chanced throwing six “COOPER” die to win a MINI Cooper outright, sponsored by New Country MINI (unfortunately no-one won!)
The MINI Cooper lease was won by Meg & Jeff - Meg owns a MINI and Jeff used to, so now he will have the chance to drive one again.
The Trip to England was won by Ivan who hopefully will share with his wife Norine - we look forward to a report from them when they return …
drum roll please …
The combined total of raffle ticket sales, individual donations, and $1 “door prize” tickets sold on the day has raised $14,993 for Rosie’s Place!
This total does not include the $1,500 additional money already donated to Rosie’s Place, with checks written to Rosie’s Place and sent to MINIsOnTop.
MINIsOnTop hope to make a presentation to Rosie’s Place shortly, and we will of course have pictures on the MINIsOnTop website …
Thanks again; it was exhausting but fun
A successful MINIsOnTop!
MINIsOnTop 2007 is over, and (hopefully) everyone is happy! A few pics to give the flavor of the event, if you didn’t make it:
The MOT2007 grille badge
We’ve just received delivery of the MOT2007 grille badges - they will be available for sale on Friday evening and on Saturday, at the various MINIsOnTop events …

These badges are mounted like last year - see this updated installation guide for details.
MOT2007 awards
One of the MINIsOnTop traditions is to present a few amusing awards to various attendees - nothing too serious of course, just for fun!
This year, we have medals for the winning Trivia Contest team (which takes place on Friday evening at the Town & Country Inn):

We also have medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the Cape Cod MINI “bugfest” challenge - every registrant received a “bugfest” target in their registration pack; it should be fixed to the front of your car and judgement will take place as to the best bug hit (Steve (”Cape Cod MINI”) has total discretion to decide the awards!), an award for the “furthest MINI” (the presentation will occur at the base of Mount Washington), and finally, new this year, we have a “peoples choice” award - part of the Concours D’Elegance at Loon Mountain on Saturday morning:
