Anyone from the souhern NH area heading up Friday? We’re leaving from the Northwood/Epsom area by 5:00PM to arrive in Bartlett around 7:00PM. Fashionably late, but just in time for Sundaes on Friday! We’ll be taking the lesser traveled, more scenic route…a combination of Routes 28, 16, 153 & 302.

It’s about a 2 hour drive from our place and we could arrange to meet others along the way. We’ll be staying just a few minutes down the road from Attitash, so we’ll go right past it on our way there.

If you’re in the neighborhood, let’s MOTOR together!

  • Just a quick notice to anyone heading up on Saturday, I’m leading a caravan to Loon Mountain and would like to invite anyone driving up Saturday to come with us! For more information, check out the facebook event page for the caravan or check out the bottom of the feeder events page or both! It’s an easy drive up to Loon Mountain, but why make the drive alone? Go with a group of MINIs!!!

Jarlath, Becca’s husband, is planning to take a leisure stroll up Mt. Washington via the Tuckerman Ravine Trail prior to the MOT, accompanied by Nina, our 16 lb. Schnauzer.

I welcome any able bodied adventurers to join us in the Great Ramble this year.

We will make short rest stop every mile until we reach the Hermit Shelter at the base of the Headwall. There will be a short, but steep climb (700′) to the shoulder of Mt Washington

Time permitting, there will be a short stop at the nearby Lake of the Clouds AMC Hut to visit.

Hopefully, it won’t be cloudy, so we can enjoy the magnificent views of the Presidential Ranges.

I will bring a runsack to carry nylon parka and pants, as well as water and trail snacks.

If you are interested in taking the 6-8 hour hike, leaving the Pinkham Notch AMC parking lot by 1 p.m. Saturday, you are welcome to join us. It will be a 4,288 foot climb, which I have done 3 times many years ago, when I had more hair on my head.

We will simply wait with popcorn for our spouses to motor up to pick us up at 8 pm for the Great Ride down the auto road.

If you feel more comfortable in leaving at noon, I’ll be glad to do that.

I will post further clothing requirement to those interested in joining us.

Wow, that sounds like fun Becca and Jar and different! If I wasn’t so lazy these days I would join you :)

One comment on Jar’s hike — this is a reasonably serious hike. There’s no technical climbing or anything, but fairly rough terrain on very exposed sections of trail. No matter what the weather below, you should be prepared for just about anything up top. That means warm layers, plenty of water for the hike, and decent footwear. If you’re not sure, stop in at the Pinkham Notch Visitors’ Center. You can get more info there.

Hello, My Wife and I attended last years event Minis ON Top, but almost forgot about it this year. Could we just show up at the Attitash like last year and get tickets. Thanks…

  • blalor

No, I’m sorry; registration closed last Sunday and the event is sold out.

  • fourmac

We just purchased our Mini last weekend and would love to attend but see that it is sold out. Any chance someone isn’t going to be able to attend and we could be on a waiting list? Thanks.

  • Fourmac –

Sorry. We’re no longer accepting registration swaps. It’s just too close to the event to manage. Thanks for your interest. Happy motoring.
